The Inkjet Endorser of the Ricoh IS-510/520 uses an ASCII string
to determine what to print on each page. The string, up to 80 characters in length,
is searched for the occurance of a sequence of the special character "%"
which will be replaced with an incrementing page count for each
page scanned. Only the first occurance of the special sequence will
have the page count substituted. For example the string:\n\n
"INTERNAL REFERENCE ID #600-XYZ%%%%%% FOOBAR"\n\n
will have the "%%%%%%" portion the string replaced with a six
digit, zero padded page count for each page. This string will be
printed vertically on the page as it passes through the scanner.\n\n
Printable characters include:\n\n
<space>0123456789-_/\#.][()=+<>ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ\n\n
Use Printing Offset to specify how far down from the top of the page
the endorser should begin printing. This distance in specified in millimeters.
The values in this dialog are used to perform X / Y calibration when scanning
pages. Most of these values will be stored in the scanner's EEPROMs upon leaving
This application. If you do not know what this means, or are unsure if you need this,
you should probably exit this dialog.\n\n
Calibration in the X (sub scanning or horizontal) direction may be changed through
the 'Front X Offset' and 'Back X Offset' parameters. These values are independent
of resolution; their units are in 400 dots per inch. Increasing these values will case
the scan to begin further to the right of the page.\n\n
Calibration in the Y (main scanning or vertical) direction may be changed through
the 'Front Y Offset' and 'Back Y Offset' parameters. Note that these values are
different depending on resolution. Increasing these values will cause the scan to
begin lower on the page.\n\n
Motor speed determines how fast the page is fed past the camera. Increasing this value
will make the page appear shorter in the Y direction; decreasing it will make the page
appear longer.\n\n
The best way to fix your calibration is to change these numbers, then scan a page
and look at the results, then re-change these numbers accordingly. To scan a page,
hit the appropriate scan button ('200 dpi', '300 dpi', '400 dpi').\n\n
Other parameters, 'Endorser Speed' and 'Endorser Y Offset' are used only if you have
an endorser installed. They determine the printing speed and vertical offset of the
output, respectively. Increasing the speed, will make the letters narrower; increasing
the offset will make the string start lower on the page. These values are stored in
the setscan.ini file, not the scanner's EEPROMS.
WARNING: At least one of the settings has been changed from its default value.\n
If you hit 'Yes' to accept this change, it will be written to the scanner's
EEPROM for permanent storage when the driver is unloaded. The driver is usually
unloaded upon quitting the scanning application.\n
To revert settings to their default values, hit 'No', then hit the Cancel or
'Last Saved Values' button.\n\nDo you wish to continue?
Some of the factory settings appear to be invalid.
Do you still wish to use them?\n\n
Hit 'Yes' to use them, 'No' to use Pixel Translations defaults,
or 'Cancel' to abort.
